Mystery novels, historical novels, children's books, the New Testament and baseball -- it's an odd combination, but those are some of my main interests, as both a reader and a writer.
Hi. I'm Albert Bell and I'm glad you've found my web site. If you're looking for the former baseball player, I'm afraid you're in the wrong place. He spells his name Belle (and on his rookie card he was Joey Belle). I used to play softball. Is that close enough?
As long as you're here, I hope you'll take a look around. I've written several types of books: mysteries, children's, historical, and non-fiction, and I invite you to look at the descriptions and see if any of them fit your reading tastes. My children's historical mystery, The Secret of the Lonely Grave, won the 2008 Evelyn Thurman Young Readers' Book Award, given by the Western Kentucky University Libraries. The book also won a Silver Medal from the 2008 Mom's Choice Awards. Please see the page for that book for more details. My second Pliny book, The Blood of Caesar, was named one of the 5 Best Mysteries of 2008 by Library Journal.
For the past several years I've had the pleasure of working with a small traditional press, Ingalls Publishing Group of Boone, NC. To find out more about them and other authors on their list click here
My next book, Death in the Ashes, the fourth in the Pliny series, will be published in the fall of 2013 by Perseverance Press. To find out more about them and other authors on their list click here.
I now have a separate site about the Pliny mysteries and about Pliny the Younger in general. To visit that site click here.
. Instructions for ordering are given on the page for each book. Most of them are available on Kindle or Nook, so check on that. You can also click on the "About" button to find out a little bit about me. There aren't any cute pictures of my cat or my dog. I'm not much of a pet person, but I do enjoy writing, and I hope you'll find something of mine that interests you.
